Learning The Bible With A Deck of Cards

There are many games that children and adults alike that are played with a simple 52 card deck of playing cards.  You may think of some of them such as; Go Fish, Old Maid, Crazy Eights, Memory and Slap Jack for children.  They also don't require a computer or other electronical device to play.  

Then you have the games that require more concentration such as, Hearts, Spades, Kings in the Corner,  or Rummy and there are a myriad of other games one can play and they do not include Poker or other gambling card games.  

Did you know there is a way to get your children to learn about the Bible with a simple 52 deck of playing cards?

Here it is.


  • The Ace represents that there is only one God.   
  • The Two illustrates the two parts of the Bible, the Old and New Testaments.
  • The Three represents the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.   
  • The Four is the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. 
  • The Five represents the five glorified virgins. The Bible mentions 10 but only five of them were glorified.   
  • The Six portrays the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth and all there is in this world. 
  • The Seven is the day God rested.   
  • The Eight represents the 8 people that God saved from the Deluge; Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives. 
  • The Nine is the lepers that Jesus healed of leprosy. He healed 10, but only 1 thanked Him.  
  • The Ten represents the Ten Commandments.  
  • The Jack depicts Satan, God's first angel.  
  • The Queen represents the Virgin Mary.
  • The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.

Counting the dots on all the cards , there are 365, one for each day of the year.

There are a total of 52 cards in a deck which there are 52 weeks in a year.  

The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. 


Each suit has thirteen cards -- there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.

There you have it all and you can teach your children all about the Bible using a simple deck of cards.
